Pain prevention through restoration, realignment and retraining

"At the top! I have had many 'world class treatments' and Dominick is right there!"

My Intention

It is my intention to treat strain patterns before they become pain patterns.  My goal is to provide relief by treating muscle imbalances that create asymmetry with hands-on therapy and movement education.  I would like to help each client bring balance to their body and to cultivate more awareness of posture and movement so that they become more empowered to reinforce healthful changes that result from this work.

About Dominick

Dominick Martino is a licensed massage therapist, registered 200 hour ERYT yoga instructor and personal trainer certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).  With over 20 years of experience in the field, Dominick Martino has developed his own approach to bodywork. It is his intention to help alleviate your discomfort, treating imbalances and strain patterns before they become pain, to help you understand what may have contributed to the present state and empower you to avoid future injury or trauma.

Dominick incorporates varying styles and influences into his manual therapy and bodywork: deep tissue, soft tissue, sports massage, Myofascial and trigger point work, Traditional Thai Massage & Myoskeletal Alignment.  He brings a freshness to each customized session. His background in bodywork and yoga gives him a unique skill set that he applies to your sessions and his knowledge of movement and corrective exercise techniques allow him to give you the knowledge and power to avoid pain and injury and move well.

He works with patients recovering from injures as well as those in or recently discharged from Physical Therapy.  Dominick's touch has been described as deep and nurturing and is skilled in finding those troublesome spots while easing your pain and discomfort. He is a gifted teacher and his eye for movement and his ability to covey understanding of your issues will leave you feeling like you finally found the answers you were seeking.  Dominick believes that healing is a process and that a patient and nurturing touch is the best path to results.

Dominick is certified in FMS (Functional Movement Screening) and uses these assessments in your movement session.  After assessing your strengths and weaknesses, Dominick will retrain your movements through exercises which will reinforce changes accomplished by the Myoskeletal work and help you discover how your posture may be leading to your pain. You will get stronger by building awareness of your imbalances and learning to move more efficiently.

"We can see that an important factor in both preventing injuries and in improving performance is to identify deficits in mobility and stability, both of which influence the creation of altered motor programs throughout the kinetic chain."
